I'm concerned my heater matrix might be leaking. The water level in the radiator had dropped by about half a litre since the new one was fitted a couple of months ago.

When the last one was leaking, the car stank, the windscreen fogged up, there was coolant dripping into the footwells and steam coming out of the instruments! LOL

Apart from a bit of a smell (possibly from old coolant still in the vents and ducts), I now can't see any leaks in the cabin.

So my question is, is it possible for a heater matrix to be leaking without it leaking into the cabin? The garage who fitted it managed to crack a fair amount of the centre console, so could have been done in a hurry.

Or is my coolant going somewhere else... Sad No

I'd say it was probably an air lock finding its way to the rad if that all its down over a few months keep an eye on it though make sure the level stays the same from now on
