Was giving the car a check over the other day...

Underneath all good apart from N/S/F balljoint has a bit of play (Im hoping the hub has not ovalised!!)
and a gearbox oil leak coming from the N/S/ driveshaft. I had a look and im guessing its the output shaft seal that has gone but I also noticed that the driveshaft moves in and out quite a bit. Is this common? Or is there a circlip missing/ broken? Heres the pics.

Is the ball joint attached to the hub when you get that movement in the drive shaft?

Yeah all attached. Just jacked car up, left on 4 axle stands and went underneath to investigate the oil leak. Noticed it was coming from the driveshaft seal. With my hand I check the driveshaft and it moved slightly so I got my pry bar and checked the movement. Found I had quite a bit so I took the pics.

There is no clip missing, the shaft will pull straight out of the diff when its detached from the hub/ball joint/strut combination.

I wouldn't expect it to move so far as that when its all bolted together but it may be that there is normal movement in the joint. Does it look like the rubber boot is flexing when you use the pry bar?

Honestly can't remember. I'm going to be replacing disc's, pads, shocks and ball joints in a couple weeks so I might wait until then and pull the driveshaft out and replace the seal and check it all over. There doesn't appear to be any knocking or dodgy sounds when driving at the min
