evening all. was after a part number for a starter motor for a 98 gti6.

as my local suppliers cant give me a price as they dont know which 1 it is.

useless fookers lol i havnt been on the site for AGES but man am i impressed.

looks better than ever before.

would appreciate some help as im getting sick and tired af jumping my car as the starter drains the battery Sad

I'd check the battery hasn't caused the problem. I didn't check my battery in a very long time and the cells dried out causing a drop in ampage to the starter which killed it. The ring gear wasn't engaging the fly properly. So I had to change both Thumbs down

I can't for the life of me remember the part number but it's visible from the inlet mani.

Finally got a price for a new starter. £90 with an exchange for
My old one. Could anyone confirm a Gsf part number for me so I can double check.
As I need my car and getting the wrong one would be a disaster lol

Bloody glad I haven't orderd it yet then Smile. Ecp wanted £180 and an exchange so guess that's out of the window. Just had a a pm regarding me purchasing a starter motor off a member so may go that route. Just don't like the fought of a second hand one going wrong aswell Sad

Its not very coomon for these starter motors to fail really. I have a couple of spares. I could do one fr £20 posted.
