IIRC it needs to be 19mm for the ICV.I think halfords may have them but for about £20+. I got mine from a kit car show for £7. Make sure its like a proper filter and not just a breather filter which is just like wire mesh instead of the paper element. ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

I'm interested in this thread want to know what the idle filter does and where it is. If it is situated on a pipe between the top of the engine block to the inlet manifold. It seems as though there is a minute oil leak which seems to be collecting inside the mainfold. would it be normal for oil to contaminate the inside the inlet manifold. I'll see if i can post a few pics of it. |

Yep, perfectly normal. The oil recirculates through a one way valve from the cam cover breather and deposits in the throttle body. Mine was gunky but cleaned it up, didn't seem to cause any running issues. If you're bothered though you can fit a catch tank and vent the vapours outside the car.As prism said, there's two types of mini filter. Crankcase breathers tend to be a kind of gauzey material that don't filter properly as they let oil vapour out, proper ICV breathers are basically a tiny K&N type filter. Mine was only £5 or so on eBay. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Mine was £8 from Motorworld a few tears back. It had a fabric inner and mesh outer. Worked a treat when fitted to the icv. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |
