Hey peeps,

So travelling along at 70mph on the M25 today and i glanced down at the speedo which quite oddly dropped from the 70mph position to 0mph then flew back up again in a quick bouncing motion.....bit odd?

Is it a sign my engine is due to blow up soon?! Unsure

Also when dipping the clutch the other day going around a roundabout the engine management light came on then went straight off again, coincided with a drop in revs and the speedo.....also a bit odd

I know this b*tch is brewing up something for me....i just dont know what. Thumbs down

Any ideas?

Try removing the shunt fuse, the big solid one in the middle of the fuse box, for 10 mins. You'll have to set up your radio again, but this fixed some odd behavior in mine. After that check the earths and leads going into the back of the instrument panel.

Hmmm, is it relay shaped this shunt fuse? Or is it in the midst of all the smaller fuses under the steering wheel?

Not sure how i can check the earths/leads either, never removed the instrument panel either...will have a look in the FAQ section for a how to, cheers Smile

Is it easy enough to inspect? I will have to try and find it!

Thanks

Are revs and speed all dropping off at once? Mine was a loose earth cable behind the throttle pedal when that happened, caused some awfully odd behaviour.
