.... before i scrap the f*cking thing

I put the car on the road 3-4 months ago and straight away i knew there was a problem, basically it didn't go as i had expected, at first i told myself that i just had a high expectation and to just high boost it and be done with it, anyway the more i used it a realised that there was something wrong, i'd use it 1 day and it would seem ok then the next it wont run right, when putting the loud pedal down hard it just bogs down as though there is too much fuel so to to accelerate i have to put the pedal down slowly, then when i hit 4k rpm it stops reving like i've hit a rev limiter

So went the routes of spark plugs im using colder grade (the 1s rich recommends for track/high boost) but rich tells me they are ok and shouldn't cause this problem, i tried the 1s recommended for low boost and still no change.

Then i starting thinking it was over fueling so removed the ECT sensor dropped it in a kettle whilst it was wired to an ohms meter and the resistance is as per right through the range

Lamba was changed when i de-cated

ICV and Map have both been fitted on my other 306 and fine on that (i've fitted the 1s from the other 306 now)

Then i thought rather than it over fueling is there not enough air? so fitted a boost gauge to check boost and its showing 8-10 PSI not sure if this is right but i'd say on a low boost that would be about right

When the car is parked up i can rev the engine cleanly to 7-7.5k RPM but under load it just wont rev, the last time i took it out (about 4-5 weeks ago) everything was working fine and it was such fun to drive, why it worked then and not today i dont know

Also the speedo doesnt register correctly (20mph when doing 4k in 6th) not sure if the map is run through the speed sensor ???? (hopefully it is and thats all i need to change)

other than what i've listed can anyone offer another idea/sensor before i put a sledge to it

Don't take this as gospel, but speedo comes straight off the VSS. It does also send a seignal to the ECU for fuelling etc to say the car's moving but that only causes hesitation up to 1300rpm, as I found out recently.

The hesitation sounds almost certainly lambda or green CTS related, trademark symptoms. Where is the lambda located on the decat? I had trouble with mine where one of the wires was frayed from catching on stuff and was giving the exact same intermittent hesitation under load, the boss had been welded too low down on the decat and it was catching on the floor

Has it ever run right in your car, since you bought it from Chris?

Are you 100% sure all of the wiring is correct where it's been modified?

Did you want to send the ECU to me? I can test it.

On the S/C ECU software the MAP sensor is still used as the primary parameter for air metering and determining engine load.

It's positioned so it measures from 0 - 14.7 PSI (atmospheric pressure), wide open throttle being atmospheric pressure.

Yes it has run tidy for 1 day though, but i damaged the rad so it was parked up for a few weeks to save cash for a new rad and after fitting its gone back to this Sad

Not checked it tbh

That may well be the next step to rule it out

I'm going to plug in and do a live data reading tomorrow evening after work see whats being read, also going to fit a new VSS to see if that makes a difference

I removed the map sensor again last night to find a split in the 'O' ring put a new 1 on and it fired up nice, but as i'd already had a few bottles of bulmers i thought i'd best not take it out for a run

Fingers crossed all is good when i drive it later on
