Anyone around Staffordshire willing to do the same? Im really unsure weather to consider a supercharger or wether the 4k would be better spent elsewhere.________________________________________ owain wrote: A GTI-6 with a good dashboard and the seats down can outsprint an E46 M3 in July. |

Probably be better to buy one already charged. Well if you think about it a low boost is pretty much level if not quicker than a focus rs, so I imagine its worth it. I'm tempted to go all out and get a high boost conversion tbh. But it all depends on how quick a low boost is, I imagine I will get the engine rebuild either way though :S don't fancy supercharging a engine on 103k really.________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

My friends brother has a mk1 focus with a cosworth lump in it running 275bhp and he says it would wipe the floor with that cossie engined focus, he says it would be level up to 5k andThen the sc 6 would wipe floor with it, he was going to buy a m3 but says he now wants a sc 6. I've only had mine on the road for a week or so and I get looked at like a young Chav with a shitty 1.6 with a bug bite exhaust on, if only they knew what's gone into it! ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

Yeah there is a massive difference, but I'm surprised you didn't feel it in a s2000? eliotrw wrote: Well if you think about it a low boost is pretty much level if not quicker than a focus rs, so I imagine its worth it. I wouldn't go straight to high boost, I would get use to low boost and enjoy that till your bored. Also I wouldnt worry about charging a 100k car, it will cope fine aslong as it's been look after. ________________________________________ Phase 2 Blaze GTi 6 (Standard) SoldPhase 3 Supercharged China GTi 6 (249.8 BHP) Sold Phase 3 Supercharged Diablo GTi 6 (443 BHP)Sold Nissan 350Z (300 BHP) |

Do you know how much it costs? To me it will be worth it because there's no way you are going to get as much reliability for the power , low running costs and general speed and bonkersness in a practical car. Basically while they do 0-60 in about 5 seconds flat they also do 0-100 in around 10 I believe . For me half of the enjoyment will be in upsetting some jap cars in a French hatch Although I intend on doing the following before buying the conversion. Full suspension renewal with better bits almost every where ( but for the road not track) So stuff like strut braces (got them already) Hybrid arb ( got it already) Solid mounts Bilstein b8s Eibach springs 21mm torsion bars Lighter wheels that fit over 310mm discs and brembos Also means more tyre choice. Lsd Jetex exhaust ( maybe not actually not sure it will be free flowing enough) Gear linkages New aluminum radiator Massive oil cooler Take out the air con I think ballard Paul has shown me the light in terms of going low boost first. Unless rich fancies making another c38 jobby Because they seem to be the way forward How longs Portsmouth from London anyway? Im Welsh I have no clue Haha ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

I went out in stans big chargered high boost up prescott hill and its a massive step up from low boost. It has the tourque that every fast car should have. If i were charging i wouldnt mess about going the expensive route of low boost first then going high, i would definatly go straight to high boost. But i cant even afford low boost at the minute so il shut up... ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |
