Could just be corrosion in the cooling system, thought mine had gone as my coolant was brown sludge but was a rusty heater matrix clouding up the coolant. Flushed and refilled the system and it's fine now. Also had my cam covers off today and no emulsion to be seen so think my HG is ok for now.In your case though it may well have gone if it got to the red, by that stage it's too late usually and the residual heat still cooks it even if the engine's switched off straight away. Mine was getting hot but never overheated as such. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

drop the coolant and bypass the heat exchanger, see how it goes, probably need to flush the system several times to get rid of the crud.if its not misfiring on startup or pressurising the coolant I'd imagine it'll be fine, seen a few heat exchangers go and you wont get waqter in the oil usually as the oil runs at a much higher pressure. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
