In May i advertised some 5dr side skirts on .net gave a price including postage for mainland UK, through pm's i did a deal with a lad £30 iirc delivered, but couldn't pay for a week or so due to waiting on his pay, I said fine and asked him to let me know when the money has been sent (my paypal account is a bussiness acc and therefore went through a period where all payments went in a holding area for 28days) anyway about 3-4 weeks after the pm's i received a pm asking where the skirts were ? I went to my paypal acc holding area to see that yes he had paid but as it was in the holding area i hadnt had an email to tell me, so i gave my apologies and offered that i include the phase 3 rub strips free of charge (and anyway i had asked him to let me know when he'd made payment) i packaged the skirts and strips took all measurements etc and raised collection, the next day the courier firm phoned to say as the delivery address is in the highlands they wouldn't be able to take on the job, i then sent the lad a pm offering a refund but he said he wanted them and for me to find a price to get them delivered, i got a rough quote of £28 (£18 more than quoted on original deal) he agree'd and sent further £18, i raised collection only to find the firms rough quote was just that a rough quote to send would cost me £37 odd so putting £10-11 in my pocket for a pair of skirts and 6 rubstrips, i thought sod it and raised collection, the parcel was collected from me the next morning......

almost 2 weeks on the parcel found its way back to me, on contacting the courier firm they say they tried to deliver several times in the end had to return to sender, obviously no refunds from them, now the lad is asking for a full refund i've told him his skirts are ready for collection as soon as he arranges a courier but he is now harassing fellow s.wales members to contact me on his behalf

Basically im after your opinions/thoughts on this

the courier would have left an attempted delivery form for him and therefore being his responsibility to re-arrange delivery. i have had 1 or 2 like that. refund the price of the skirts minus postage costs. report to paypal and they should also help.

We get this all the time at work, Couriers have wised up to this 'I wasn't in' routine and normally take a door colour or brief description of the house etc. so ask them if they have such info and put it to him. I would say that if you have proof that they tried to deliver your parcel, you have played your part and offer him a refund on the parts, tha'ts fair. The fact that he wasn't in has NOTHING to do with you, If he thought he wouldn't be in then he should have supplied an alternative delivery address. Lessons for both parties, If im sending anything at all, be it work or for myself, I always state that there must be someone present at all times at the address specified or there is a chance that the delivery will be missed, you cover your ass that way Smile

Hope it gets resolved!
