Anyone has any experience of these being sold through ebay? They seem to be popping up on jap cars and cant see anything bad being said about them. An alternative when it comes to replacing my shocks. Ta

There was a set on my Rallye when I bought it. They were cheap and cheerful and almost throwaway at their price.

Don't expect wonders but they're not the worse i've ever seen.

I have these on my HDi DTurbo... I wouldn't recommend them for the GTi6.

See pics at the bottom of this thread:http: //www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=129924&page=1

There not much travel left in the shock when lowered around -40mm and the main coil spring is compressed ALOT! it would compress even more under the weight of the heavier GTi6 engine.

Lowered cars are hated on here. Mine included LOL

Fact is though a decent kit will make it handle very well.

EFA. Mine was pretty low - hit most speed bumps on the exhaust manifold...

It was the front exhaust manifold downpipe where it went under the sump.

Badly lowered:

1. Poor quality components used - springs/dampers
2. Damping/spring rates not increased to take the reduction in travel into account.
3. Alignment not sorted.
4. Rake not taken into account.

Thats about it really. At a guess mine was -45mm on the front and -25mm on the rear. Standard rear TBs, hybrid arb, AST sportline 1 coilovers/dampers. Hard to tell with 16s on though:

Agreed!

I went for good quality coilovers with rear shocks to suit, 21mm tbs had the alignment sorted when set at desired ride height.

Didn't fancy much rake as I set the front to match the back. Your rallye looks tough! Always wanted the pro race 1.2s Love

Measured where? Chassis or arches? The rear arches are lower than the front anyway. Mine were pretty much level, but the chassis was front down which I prefer.

Looks very different now and back to being a 2L again. Rare I think about wanting it back, but those photos do make me a little sad.
