this is the rallye i was going to fix, sell and replace with a 6 to s/c or turbo but since i have no history for the car i am going to keep it.
the plan is

anthracite cyclones
anthracite black masks
30mm drop all round
polished or s/s rocker covers and inlet manifold
eaton s/c or t3 turbo (havent decided yet!)
2.5" custom made exhaust with decat and 2 silencers to keep noise levels down
emerald engine management

so a few pics from when i got her back to the workshop.

i then took the head off to find this

not only are them 2 valves bent the seats and guides were badly damaged so i decided to scrap that head and bought another. put it together and it knocked like hell so here we go again!

found 4 shagged lifters

and this

without a key way i dont have a hope in hell of knowing the timing is right.

so she got backed into the corner where she will live for the next few weeks while i wait for bits and get time to put it back together.
i will update as i go along.

While the site was down i removed the head replaced all the valves and re-ground them. changed the lifters and put it back together. i didnt get any pictures because my phone was dead but it looks the same pink rallye it did before. i am going to set to tomorrow with the g3 and polisher and see what i can make of it.
but for now here is a list of acquired parts,
eaton m62 charger
406 brembos
Chrystal headlights
walbro fuel pump

I'll be honest, although shiny that still looks pretty pink to me. However so do your rear lights so maybe just camera quality? Avatar pic looks better.

Tom.

So yours is not laquered?

Must have been painted sometime then in its life.

As standard Pug finish is laquered.

Did you get red on your buffer when cutting it?

yes my pad was red at the end and its had the rear quarter painted at some point.
we have a body shop and a garage and we say if paint and and lacquer are complete we can restore it without painting or we wont charge for cutting it.
