Anyone on here pressed the pin out of the trailing arms themselves? If so, what size press did you use? Thanks! ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

yup, 20 ton one sufficed, I think the most I've had on one was about 8 tons though.I take it you mean the shaft the arm moves on? the one the bearing sits on can be knocked out with a copper hammer easily enough. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

slightly off topic but would a 10 ton press be enough to remove and insert bushes similar in size to the lower gearbox one? |

Yes, but having a press only gets you half way there. You still need to find / fabricate / improvise tools that fit the things you want to press. ________________________________________ Rich |

Just for info-I bought a 12 ton press fom KMS on ebay for £109 delivered. It was delivered next day, and its ermmm, well, it works. It comes flat packed and it goes together easily enough, with a little persuasion. Lets just say the holes may as well have been drilled by Stevie Wonder. Its basically a bottle jack, built into a frame. I have managed to press the big trailing arm pin, the rear wheel bearing (without damage!) and the stub axel out of the trailing arm so its done me ok. I don't think it will ever pass any health and safety tests and it wouldn't cope with proper garage use but for the average home garage it is a cheap way of doing stuff yourself! You will need to fabricate a few bits n bobs, but I managed to press all the bits mentioned above out using the plates that come with the press, the removed pins, a long 17mm extension ad a 32mm socket, so not too bad! All in recommended, but bare in mind its cheap for a reason! ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

Had often wondered how good those cheapy ones were, well worth knowing Is it one that attaches to an air compressor, or one with a hand pump jobby? ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Nah, its a hand pump jobby. Added bonus is that you can remove the bottle jack and use it seperately if you wanted too!________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |
