I need to think about replacing some bushes/mounts on my rear axle, I am sure they are the ones which give u the rear wheel steer. Its not the ones which are located the farest to the rear of the car but the next one in.
I was under my car today and can't work out where they are bolted from.
I can see on some pics that they bolt upwards and wanted to know how easy/or not to change? How do u get to the nuts as they appear to go in to the boot.
I work in a fast fit garage (tyres/exh/brakes etc) so I have some skills but need a little advise.
Thanks

All four mounts bolt onto the axle and then into the boot floor, 6 all together, with rubber covers for protection under the carpet.

The front 2 mounts use 2 long bolts to hold them to the axle, the back 2 mounts just use one each and are the easiest to get off.

I do solid mounts if they maybe of interest and should have some made up before next weekend if you would like some, £130 with £25 refund on return of your old mounts.

Am i better of with solid mounts then? What does that give me.
Also i would love to lower it, is it worth doing that at the same time?

i have thought about these solid beam mounts before. I think if you are putting the car on the track or using it regularly for track days then you will probably get better handling with solids.

I think solids on a road car might be a bit execessive. The noise and rattling could annoying on the great British roads.

Personally i have replaced all four mounts with good quality standard parts.

I us my car as a weekend toy whilst doing occasional track days.

All the above is just my tupence worth cos i have never tried the solid mounts

EDIT forgot to say that changing them should be easy if you reguraly use spanners n stuff

If you just using on the road i would go for replacing the mounts with good quality standard replacements.

Ther are various other suspension upgrades that you will find on here.

It just depend show hardcore and expensive you want to go.

To be fair, unless you intend to keep your car for another 10 years or so, then any will do.

Don't know of any to avoid .

So people on here will tell you always to buy Pug parts. IMO its a waste of money. But my car only does low mileage so i cannot comment on any difference in longevity.

For these kind of thinks i always go for Lemforder as i have been told they are the same quality as the pug ones.

My mate swears that the even cheaper parts are just as good but simply won't last so long. It really is your choice.
