Hi all. My interior heater keeps on start/stopping. Sometimes it graunches too. Any ideas? My feeling is the motor is stuffed. If this is the case is it a big job to rectify? Cheers. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

You mean the blower motor? Undo the screws holding it all in under the passenger footwell and see if there's any old bits of twig stuck in it.________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Yup, you undo the connector, remove a few screws and the fan unit falls out IIRC, don't know if it's any different with air con. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Heh no it doesn't. Just get yourself into the most uncomfortable position you can imagine looking upwards with your head in the footwell. You'll see a big round plastic thing with a few wires coming out of it - that's the motor housing. Undo those screws and it'll drop out, just be careful to catch it so you don't rip the wires out ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

All fixed, just seemed to be stuck. No obvious cause, but a few drops of water came out when I removed the fan.Thinking back to when I first got the car (over 10 years ago), the drain hose had snapped off on the fan and this was repaired by the dealers. The connection to the fan unit was badly corroded and no way water could have flowed through it. No idea if the fan has a metal outlet or if this was a result of the repair by the garage. Replaced corroded metal connection with a plastic one made from a modified piece from a garden irrigation system and greased the moving parts. All seems to be working for now. |

Oh, there are 4 screws, 2 are dead easy to get to but 2 are a bit of a pain, can just get a screwdriver to them by putting it between the metal bar and the bottom of the trim under the glovebox. |
