If it's a standard engine, just get a standard air filter. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

relocate your battery and ABS, reroute your coolant top hose, long straight inlet pipe to carbon airbox and green filter behind n/s headlight, fed by cold air from behind front bumper. Only if you're bored though ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

It would probably help if the OP included any information whatsoever. I for one am not familiar with the engine he has in his car.________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

you f*cking pedant. On the one hand, everyone who signs up HAS to have a gti6 or rallye, then when someone assumes they dont need to mention what engine it's for you demand more info?Bet it's a 1.4 anyway ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

He specifically said it was for "his" engine, not "the" engine, this put doubt in my mind. He probably owns a vectra. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Generally them or the Pipercross Viper are considered the better of the aftermarket filters but given the fact there's so little difference between any of them it's all down to personal preference ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

daytime6 wrote: I own a Gti 6 or I wouldn't be on this forum You'd be surprised As for the engine many people run superchargers or turbos, people have different cams or throttle bodies, hence my questioning what engine setup you had. Standard engine, you really won't notice any difference than with a new OEM replacement. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

If it's real carbon fibre then enclosure wise it'll be just as good. The main difference will be the filtration, cheapo filters tend to let more crap through. What's packed in about it? Have you thought of just replacing the filter?________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

I'd advise you to get whatever suits your needs and budget. Headline figures like bhp make f*ck all difference, but enclosed filters with a well located cold air feed tend to improve midrange and bottom end torque somewhat, making the car seem quicker and respond better. The standard airbox is good, but it can be improved on. The only problem with that is money and, as stated in my original post, having to relocate things. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

I've got my cold air feed located between the right hand side of the radiator cowling ( if looking at the car) which feeds thru the grill ,I will proble try n go for a official Bmc filter as I don't realt like the sound of the induction sound |
