wasn't the sunroof was an option at purchase? both my 6s have had sunroofs! just as well as the aircon was broken on both! as for decals dont halfrauds have some nice flames to stick on it? or go faster stripes? perhaps a couple of those cool bullet holes to give it that proper gangsta feel? now if you found a "Jesus lived for the 306" sticker - that might be allowed.

Yup, in the same way electric windows and air-con were options on the Rallye Yes

Why would you want Rallye decals anyway - they are hideous imo Shock

But sorry it would look bloody stupid having both....and its not a Rallye so why paint it up like one Wink

F*ck what the 'purists' say. It's your car - if you want the stripes then put them on.

As I said in another thread, there's nothing special about the 306 Rallye, just a marketing ploy to generate revenue. Only the 205 Rallye bore the genuine PTS livery, with the S1 106 Rallye carrying a revised version with the black stripe removed.

There's nothing sacred or heritage related about the 'arty' stripes on the 106 S2 Rallye or 306 Rallye and you have no reason to feel bad about using them if you want to.

(Oh, and for the record, the sunroof shells are actually stiffer than the non-sunroof ones due to the two strengthening beams across the top of the chassis that are not fitted to the non-sunroof shells.)

Oh Rich.... Its Navy blue that stripe that was removed and it represents Talbot. The stripes on the 306 rallye are just Peugeot Sport.

They may be slightly stiffer but you are carrying loads more weight higher up. Bet there is bugger all difference in real terms Razz

I dunno, there were quite a few differences between the GTi6 and Rallye. Probably not enough to really make a difference in terms of handling etc. Its a far cry from the marketing involved with the 206 Rallye or 207 S16 (UK).

For what its worth i've seen two Astor HDis with PS stripes. Hardly making you much different from the diesels then eh?

Quite right, not really sure why I wrote black, other than being very tired and not paying attention Doh Chalk me up a fail! Laugh

As for the 6 vs Rallye point, the 306 Rallye was about bringing the price down. Peugeot knew they had a fundamentally excellent product but it was expensive so a 'special' edition with all the toys taken out and marketed at a lower price made sense. What Peugeot deliberately didn't do was re-engineer the car as that would have pushed the price up again.

Look at the Megane R26.R - that still has A/C and electric windows. The weight saving there comes from (amongst other things) removing the sound deadening, a carbon bonnet and removing half of the glass. It also has revised suspension and brakes, which is something Renault have been much keener to do on their high end sport models than Peugeot ever were.

With the 306 Rallye the goal wasn't to make a purer or more focussed car. It was to make a cheaper car, and then cynically use Peugeot's motorsport heritage to make it appeal to enthusiasts.

Why not buy a rallye then fit the none working aircon and the forever breaking electric windows and mirrors. I'm pretty sure all the wiring is there
The rallye is much much lighter now than when it left the factory!! That's a fact! Mainly due to the fact they didn't underseal them very well (to keep weight down) and they have rusted to buggery Big grin

Ps don't put rallye stripes on your 6 unless it's black, cherry red or White.

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fecking temperamental.
