Just doing my rear pads and discs and the caliper isn't winding in as it should. I'm turning in clock-wise but it doesn't move at all.

Does this mean the caliper has had it or is there some method to make it retract?

If it's right out try applying some light pressure + turning as it may have unthreaded.

Ford rear calipers need pressure + turning!

When I did mine I slackened my handbrake cable right off at the adjuster nut under the centre console trim cover.

Have you tried this? Mine wound in without any problems whatsoever. You will probably want to re-adjust the handbrake anyway so it's no extra work.

Cheers for the replies everyone!

Managed to get back in with a combination of pressure on the piston while winding with the bleed nipple open, so panic over!

So new discs and pads all round and calipers painted silver all sorted. I did notice that my pads are wearing unevenly, both in terms of each set and on either side. Is this normal or a symptom of a problem with the system?

Take them apart again, and grease the sliders. You will probably find they are all gunked/fouled/rusted together

Edit: that means remove all the shite, scotchbright them down to shiny metal and then grease them up
