Hi folks,

Apologies for introducing myself by asking for your help!

To cut to the chase, my air con system is leaking, really quite badly, going from fully charged to empty in 24hrs! Its been in to the garage, they had it on 2 seperate occasions and despite putting dye in the system they cant find a leak!

I have it booked in with a specialist who has a nitrogen charger, which so I'm told makes any leaks alot more obvious, but I wondered if this is a common scenario with the 306? Any componants that are likely culprits?

If its relevant, the car is an S reg 1.9td Meridian.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

If there is a pipe fixed to the bottom of the radiator, that will almost always be the problem.

Ended up being a right pain in the chuff. First the original garage I took the car to manged to break the clips that attach the small trim panels under the headlights into the wings, and thought I wouldn't notice. Needless to say I made sure they put that right!

Ended up taking it to a place with a nitrogen charger, they found a substantial leak in the condensor and a dodgy pipe. Quoted between £250 and £300 to fix depending on the price of the pipe from Peugeot. Considering the car is only worth £500ish I've got to decide whether on not its worth it, hmmm.....

Pipes come up on eBay sometimes.
