Could it be started solenoid, starter motor itself, any ideas would be helpfully as its used daily to get to work and back

I came to start my car last night after work turned my key all lights on dashboard on as normal it just wouldnt fire. It wouldnt turn over at all couldn't here the starter motor even making a clicking noise. So I bumped it and after that it seemed to work fine all night while I turned it off n started about 6 times.. untill this morning and it won't turn over again.... any help would be much appreciatedCould it be started solenoid, starter motor itself, any ideas would be helpfully as its used daily to get to work and back Cheers Phil |

I've got a problem very simmilar to this, I initially thought, that it was the battery gone but is the starter motor they sometimes get dead spots on them and you turn passed them most of the time. Then you land on them and cant start |

Sounds like the starter motor brushes, if you can find an auto electrician that will sell you the brushes there easy to change. just be careful not to loose any parts when you take the motor apart. |

Cheers guys.. well I'm picking up a brand new starter motor tonight after work. Shall be fitting it on Saturday. I've looked through the forum and Google some people are saying you need ti remove the inlet manifold. |

Sounds about right. You may be able to do it by removing the rad and slam pannel. Only issue with that would be that the air-con would need re-gassing. But i'm sure that doesn't work anyway! |

Starter changed yesterday. I decided to renove the inlet to get to the starter motor.. all seems fine now thankgod. And air con doesn't work anyway it broke on the previous owner so he removed it. |
