just getting my rear beam back from getting painted
(local firm refubished it)

noticed they had taken the rear wheel bearings off which i had stupidly left on

they were only 10k old, i didnt want to disturb them Unsure so i left them on

do i need any special tools to put them back on?

and should i be replacing them now they took them off?

thanks chaps

rear wheel bearings

they were taken off by a set of pullers?

can i just use a rubber mallet to wack them back on or do i need to be more diplomatic about it?

You can just tap them back on using a socket and a hammer.

Just clean up the stub axle with some emmery cloth before trying to knock them on,and a smear of oil/grease won't hurt Wink

+1 i walloped mine back on with a hammer and socket 12 months ago when I replaced a stub axle, then used the hub nut to help wind it on. Been fine since.

thanks, done this
surprised how open the bearings are once you pull of off with them "pullers" first time i seen these things

took a wee bit of persuasion with various socket sizes and rubber mallet, plenty of grease was used too Yes

had been worried about them falling to bits but they were fine
