Having spend a bit more time driving the car after initially thinking it was misfiring threw the rev range. I now beleive that the problem is rotational.

The exact fault is that under minimal and heavy loads the car shakes from side to side, it still appears to pull threw it, but obviously the faster i get, the faster it shakes. With no throtle, the symptoms are gone.

Driveshafts? Anyone had this before. I have no nasty noises on full lock, just this bad shake/massage seats LOL

Driveshaft. Yes

My neighbour had this issue and looking through the forum there is numerous threads like it where driveshafts are the culprit.

driveshafts are a possibility,

Test 1
keep in second gear and floor it, look for wobble in gear stick, let off throttle and see if gearstick moves forwards loads or comes outta gear.

Test 2
with bonnet open and mates foot on brake and handbrake on, look at engine mounts while he lets the clutch off and on while in gear, look for excessive engine movement and knocks

Brilliant! Smile Just the info i was after!

The gearstick/whole car wobbles fairly dramatically under little/heavy loads, not noticed any excessive forward/rearwards travel on it though, certainly doesnt jump out of any gears Smile

Will have to look at the engine mouths whilst im changing the shafts Smile Which one is more prone to failing? I'll change both out or precaution.

wobbly gearstick usually a sign of driveshaft.

upper engine mount usually goes, the base 'cup' cracks that it screws into and needs a plate welding in usually.

may well just be the shafts, but check the engine mount aswell Thumbs up
