Hi guys. Just found out today that my 205 GTI (originally a 1.9 but now with a 306 GTI-6 lump) has got a dirty big hole in the bellhousing  It currently has a 1.9 gearbox but I'm thinking about using a 205 1.6 GTI gearbox which I believe has shorter ratios? Has anyone else done something similar or should I stick with the 1.9 box? Cheers, George |

Thanks Rich. It's a track car so it looks like the 1.6 GTI box is the right one. Any idea what it will top out at - around 120?Edited to say; will there be any issues with the 1.6 box coping with the extra power of the GTI-6 motor? |

120 to 130 I'd say and it will be fine on the 6 engine  |
