hi, ive searched and cant find the thread but i know you can get a oil filter from a different car that is shorter but still fits the same eg.
does anybody know what its from or the part number?
because its smaller does that mean the oil will need changing more often?
thanks andy

I remember that thread but good luck trying to find it LOL

PM Mechanical_repairs for details. I think it was from a Peugeot or Citroen commercial van.

The oil will last the same, but the filter will get full of deposits sooner, half the size = half the life I would guess. Why the need for a shorter filter anyway?

There may not be any need but I reckon things may be a but tight down there with the boost pipe and a thermostatic sandwich plate for the oil cooler

It helps to keep the oil system primed if it has a non return valve, the pressure relief allows umfiltered oil to still flow in the event the filter becomes totally clogged. Not an issue on a well serviced car though.
