hi, i recently refitted my dash after doing the matrix, i cant start the car yet as ive yet to finish boost pipework but ive had the ignition on and tested the starter motor and all seems as it should be but ive noticed this plug under the steering collumn thats not connected and wondered if i have missed plugging it in somewhere?

Looks like an ignition switch plug, have you replaced the barrel or anything as some are two pin and some are three pinned?

no not touched the barrel but i will check to see if theres a plug missing from it.

Defo ignition lead. that comes from the barrel, follow the other 2 from the barrel and the other end wont be far away, it'll also be brown.

some have 3 plugged in, some only 2. my p1 shell has 3, my gti6 p3 has 2 if i remember correctly

my p1 shell now only has 2 plugged in as the other was presumably for the keypad immobiliser - which i did away with Ninja - and this plug is now waste

so it may just be spare and was never connected before maybe?
i will have to see if she starts ok when i get under the bonnetg finished.

i've a phase 1 and ive got that too. got spare plugs everywhere yet everything works.... Crazy
