NGK single electrode are fine. The standard ones are single. Bosch Super 4s wont help you, except take some more money out of your wallet.I'd go bog standard Peugeot or NGK every time unless its forced induction. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

The 4 electrodes just allow it to choose the best and shortest route for the spark. £10.40 from euros IIRC. ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

Just found this thread so bit of a revival. Out of curiosity i thought i'd try some iridiums. I have researched in to them alot so understand them quite well now. Anyway they are now installed and they work fine, I wasn't expecting BHP gains but one thing i have noticed is they seem to make the engine pull better from lower rpms. One thing that's bugging the shit out me though is this. When the car is being driven around town my oil temp never used to exceed 80oC until you opened the taps but with the iridiums it now runs at a constant 90oC and won't budge any lower. Is it just a coincidence or is it that the iridiums are making it run hotter??? Some may see this as a silly question but i just thought i'd ask. Personally i can't see a spark plug making the oil temps run slightly higher but as said from switching plugs this is what i have noticed. Any thoughts?? Many thanks Matt. ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

Coincidences Mat I'd say. I can't see how a change of plugs could effect your running temps. On the plug front I'd bet that no matter what kind of plug you fitted (so long as they were the correct ones for the 6) you'd feel a difference. I run NGK Iridiums in mine and have done for years...It doesn't make a difference to the running temp although like you say it does seem to have a positive effect on the lower RPMs. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Thanks guys. Well the plugs i have bought are denso iridiums. As said i didn't buy them expecting power gains just thought I'd give them a shot. As said i can't for the life of me see how they could affect the oil temps. ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |
