Is it definitely flat? I thought mine was (even having replaced it), turned out it was just a bad connection on the terminal, which was giving the same symptoms as a flat battery. Have you actually put an ammeter in-line when it's not running? ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Don't just check the terminals, mine were tight too - mine was the connection where the starter motor connected to the terminal. Just check for anything loose first, it'll save you a whole lot of time if it's something as simple as mine was ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Has it still got the standard alarm system on it? If it has I would check the alarm system first as when the batteries die in the siren it can cause problems. I think it's fuse 6 (should be a 5Amp fuse IIRC, pull that out and check if the load has gone. If it has, unplug the siren (do a search if you don't know how it's been covered many times before) then put fuse 6 back and check if the drain on the battery has gone. ________________________________________ When I've got time I forget what I wanted to do, and when I remember what I wanted to do, I have no time! |

put a bulb between the negative lead terminal and neg battery terminal (to complete the circuit) and then pull out the fuses one by one until the bulb goes out. then you can find which circuit the short is on.________________________________________ 309 GTi6-T |

bad earth and shit neutral connection i think. alternator wasnt workin properly too when i tested it. tightened an cleaned all connections and changed the neutral clamp. now sittin at a comfortable 20mA an alternator reads 14.4. one problem down, more to go. salvaged it from a mate who left it sittin. currently bringin it back to its former glory. gotta replace the heatin matrix without a garage.... oh the joys of a city ________________________________________ Cherry Red - Phase 1 RestorationShe's alive again |
