Hi again guys, update to the problem I had a couple of weeks ago, the belt has snapped so the question is really do I repare or replace. I really have no spare money at all as I had just bought the car so can't afford a new car so do I try and find a cheapish replacement engine or get the garage to repare the damage? The garage is owned by a family friend so I get the work done quite cheap and I am going to ask him tomorrow if it's possible to pay him up. The other question is what kind of price am I looking at? I've heard it could be massive?Sad

Depends how badly it's gone...
You could of snapped a valve head off and it's damaged the piston(and bore possibly) If thats the case it's all f*cked. New engine time.

Or other scenario is that you've got lucky and bent a few valves, but will involve a head rebuild with new valves and guides. Expensive.

Cheapest option IMO is new engine and do cambelt.
Take apart old engine and sell good bits.

I've seen the car on ebay by the looks of it he's had it fixed.

Almost spat my coffee out at the price though, £2000 for a P reg Blaze with 125K on it!!!!

Would have been the more sensible option to break it or sell it as spares / repairs.

lol none taken mate, I've only owned the car for about 5 weeks and it's been in the garage for the past 2, the wheels are shocking and would be one of the first things changed if I can get it going agian. What exactly do I need to change on the engine or will it just be easier to dump this engine and put a new one in, I'm trying to do this as cost effectively as possible

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fecking temperamental.

To be honest it's looking like I'll scrap this thing, by the time I pay for an engine that I can't really afford, then pay for the thing to get fitted I'd be able to buy another one, although it would be a shame to scrap it cause it's very clean otherwise but this is killing me and I can't really afford to fix it, anyone want it? I'll maybe go up to the garage tonight and set fire to it and take the easy way out, lol Crazy
