I'm guessing this is probably the gear linkage? If so is it a reasonably easy job and what parts might I need and where from?
Thanks in advance

Driving home from work tonight and changed from 1st to 2nd. Was then stuck in 2nd with the gear stick flapping about. Had to drive 3 miles home in 2nd, got some strange looks!I'm guessing this is probably the gear linkage? If so is it a reasonably easy job and what parts might I need and where from? Thanks in advance ________________________________________ 1999 Black Rallye |

Sounds like one of the linkages has come away. very common. would recommend the solid gear linkages for sale on here. have a set myself. much more reliable! Easy to change yourself, can be done from the top although a bit tight! |

Depends if you're in the market for some better ones or standard replacements. If you're after uprated ones, PM "miles". If you're after normal ones, honestly don't know but someone will. They're pretty straightforward and certainly a job you can do youself. Open the bonnet, stand by the passenger wing and look down the back of the engine bay, you'll see the linkages. Get someone to wobble the gearstick from inside, I'm sure you'll soon see the problem ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |
