After some help on how to measure the size of some fittings.

I want to up the size of my oil cooler and fit new hoses and fittings following my recent rebuild, but keep my existing thermostatically controlled sandwich plate.

Having looked there seems to be a number of sized fittings available (3/8", ½", 5/8" etc). Now Im not sure what I need to measure on my existing sandwich plate to make sure I get the right sizes. Any help?

Most sandwich plates come with ½" outlets.
