I've bought some Lucas oil stop leak & i'm thinking of putting thicker oil in.
Could this help stop the leak?

I've got an oil leak on my HDi, which is impossible to see exactly where it's leaking from. I've had it about 7 months, when I bought it it was fine untill I changed the oil. I put 5w30 which is slightly thinner than recommended.I've bought some Lucas oil stop leak & i'm thinking of putting thicker oil in. Just had a good look underneath & looks like oil is coming from the pipe which comes from the turbo. ________________________________________ Team Diesel |

Sounds like a leaking pipe or a leaking seal then. Clean the area thoroughly and look for where the oil reappears first. The handbook says 5W30 is fine for an HDi engine. ________________________________________ Rich |

That's a lot easier said than done. Access is very restricted to the general area from where the oil is leaking from. ________________________________________ Team Diesel |
