So I've had a pretty small but persistent oil leak from the driver side top/rear of the engine.. I'll aim to get it sorted when the timing belt gets changed soon.

However, I want to source all necessary parts before taking it to the mechanic to minimise costs. Question is: should I get all the crank/cam seals which apply to that whole area of the engine just in case? Are there any other likely culprits I should be aware of?

Cheers..

Hmmm

Could be cam seal or cam cover seal ?

Whip the cam covers and have a look ? If they are shagged you will require replacement cam covers as the seals are part of the cover ?

Not sure what else it could be in that area ?

Is it up at the top of the engine or the bottom.

Just in the process of changing my crankshagt oil seal as it was weeping a little and making the lower rear side of the engine oily. Thumbs up

It's coming from the upper area, pretty much directly above the drivers side steering rack rubber boot... The oil's been cleaned off so that soon I'll have another look and it should be visible where it's coming from exactly. But I just wanted a list of likely leak sources for this bit of the engine so that I can narrow i down...
