Just changed my ignition barrel today. The car won't turn over but im gonna see if its because there's not enough petrol. However, when I went to disconneect the battery I noticed the negative terminal lead was really hot. Ive never noticed this before. Is this common or is something up? Any help/advice/ideas would be useful. Cheers.

No worries, think its a bad connection.

Im pretty sure it shouldnt get hot, and having no petrol wouldnt stop it turning over, if theres no fuel it simply wont fire but the engine will still turn over.

If its getting hot sounds like it's shorting.

Check the wiring of the ignition barrel too. Fiddled with mine, car wouldn't start and smoke stared pouring out of the steering column due to wire insulation melting
