Owned my 6 for about a year now but not impressed with changing down gear, down in to 2nd is horrible and more so when giving it beans.
The other day i was racing a clio sport and untill we came to roundabout i was fine then could not get into gear.
My diff seal was leaking which i have changed along with with new gear oil, and problem better but not perfect.
Any idears?

Knackered Syncromesh in second or damaged/worn gear rods, rods are easy to check/sort/replace, gearbox, not so much...Wink

Could be clutch, is the bite point really high? If its not releasing propperly and dragging you will also get gear selection issues, more good news Wink

It had been stood a long time, 1997 with 41k - the clutch pedal did stick down some times but as i use it every day it has seemed to loosen up.
There is a bit of play at the top of the clutch tho.

I reckon that might be your problem then, siezed clutch arm, squirt some duck oil on the top bush, you wont get anything into the lower one as its inside the gearbox casing but its worth a shot. (Im not talking about the clutch pedal itself by the way)
