Not the cable at all, 99% of the time it's the bearings and clutch arm that have gone rusty making the pedal heavy, change these (Parts around £60.00) but it's a box off job ________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |

I wouldn't recommend greasing the arm. It will feel nice and light for a while but over time the grease will dry out as the bushes aren't sealed. When the grease has completely dried out the pedal will become horrifically stiff. The best way I've found of doing it is to either clean out the bushes with some wire wool and WD40 or replace them, and remove the rust from the arm and smooth it down (or replace it as Miles said, but a new one is a bit too much for my liking). ________________________________________ Rich |

Try the clutch cable first though- over my time with 3 306's over 5 odd years I changed the cable 3 times! Each time it was replaced it was much lighter for a long time. ________________________________________ "Rules are for the interpretation of wisemen and the obedience of fools" (Colin Chapman, Lotus founder) |
