The 1.8 petrols and HDis ph3 both came with the same rear brakes as a gti and 14's fit them, and i put 14s on the back of the gtis when im braking them so i can assure you 14s fit.

Quite correct, all 306's with rear disc brakes have identical size of disc/calliper regardless of engine size. The only thing that differs slightly is the calliper piston diameter but that obviously won't affect wheel fitment.

cool but when i bought discs for front i gave them the reg they asked if it was abs which it is so i said yes. got home discs would fit but the 14 inch wheels wouldnt fit on to them went back they said that cant be try these which were non abs apparently and they fitted. they told me abs should have 15 inch wheels? and that peugeot are somtimes like that put what ever is lying around on. can you clear this up. it confused me that why i was woried about them not fitting on the axle.

For the front there are 3 possible disc sizes:
247mm solid (basic Ph1 models only)
247mm vented
266mm vented
283mm vented (gti6/rallye only, need min 15" wheel)
Also ABS/nonABS hubs are possible depending on model.
Within each disc size there are also different possible makes of calliper with different pad shapes Lucas/Bosch/ATE
