Afternoon all, having recently bought a 6' i knew that there would be plenty of work needed. However i cant seem to trace a fairly intermittent/odd misfire. It only ever seems to happen under heavy loads, usually between 2-3000rpm. But will then pull cleanly threw the rev range until towards the top end it will again start to miss slightly.

So far the plugs, coil packs and CTS have been replaced and it hasnt changed the fault at all. The car has been compression tested and were all fine. The only other thing i have noticed is that the ICV is not quiet right (low idle from cold/high idle on times) could this be a part of my fault?

Any ideas welcomes as no doubt one of you guys will have come accross something sumular Smile

Could be the lambda, but it doesn't use it on WOT (wide open throttle - ie flat out).

Fuel filter or MAP sensor ever been changed? Could be the ICV if you know its got problems, but dunno why it'd be affecting the running rather than just the idle.

Car idles and drives just fine, except under heavy loads. Even then it doesnt feel like a heavy misfire, it will still pull threw the rev range, the most noticable thing is the shaky gear stick/massage seats LOL

Hadnt even thought of the fuel filter so good shout Smile will get one ordered tuesday and see where it goes.

This might sound really daft, but being that the car doesnt put the light on. Is it possible that the car could still need sensors (ie map/lambda etc)

Little azz sounds like your idle control (icv) mine was a faulty wire connecting to the icv unit and had the same problems as you,

Mike_306 could it be fuel pump? map sensor? im not the most mechanical of minded people, i just had the same issues as little azz....

Im sure someone on here will sort you out Big grin
