What is the best way of stopping them squeak? Apparently different pads? But what ones?

Try these (filing a small taper on the leading edge of the pads, copperslip on the rear of the pads, or anti-squeal compound, I tried them all) however I think you will find that all the above only provide a short term solution, as if you are unlucky enough to have Brembos that squeal, the noise always seems to come back eventually anyway.

I was under the impression that Tarox G88 discs and DS2500 pads didn't squeal. Dan's didn't when I tried his S16.

My old standard setup did and bloody hell it was painful. If you afford moving to Ash's 310 or 330 setups its worth it. I decided it was cheaper to do that than get the new discs and pads.

These calipers on Ash's discs and brackets don't squeal and work very very well, dont know if he's doping them any mo0re though.

Drops a hell of a chunk off the weight of the disc too, otherwise I;d go for the standard caliper and decent pads, or a 4 pot and belled disc that fits under 15" wheels.

Or, brake hard as f*ck absolutely everywhere, they don't squeal if the wheels are locked Wink

Trust me, I tried *everything* with mine. Removing the metal plates, cleaning them up, back on, copper slip, filing the pads, different pads, if they squeal then they squeal and you'll never get rid of it. It's an incompatibility between the disc size and the setup.

The only way of getting rid of it is to alter the physics of the disc dramatically, Tarox G88 stylee. That's what I did, and they went for deafening screaming to more or less silence.

They do still squeal a bit if you brake gently, so if they make a noise you're not braking hard or late enough. MTFU.
