hi guys i sold my 205 gti6 on ebay the other day and someone came to collect it to night, they were sound people and new there stuff.
it was pointed out to me that when the oil breath on the head was blocked up it was causing preasure in the crank and spitting oil out of the dip stick.
they imformed me it could be head gasket or piston rings, is this right or could it be somthing else?

No. There wouldn't be a crankcase breather circuit if the engine didn't need it.

the engine makes crank pressure as it works which needs venting to the outside, if the breathers are not properly plumbed up properly or have enough flow crank pressure will build up and push the dipstick out the hole along with some oil

got any pics of your breather setup?

i dont know how to up load pics so what i have is the breather on the cam cover that goes to the throttle body has been removed, the breather just vents from the head to atmospher and i have bunged up the other hole on the throttle body. i did this to stop oil vapore from entering the throttle body.

It's only a problem if the oil still gets spat out with the breather properly connected.

As long as none of the vents are blocked then venting to atmosphere should be fine. This is how mine is any there are plenty of others in the same configuration.

Have these people already taken the car and blocked the breathers or is it blowing the dipstick in your current setup?

no its been fine when i have been running it, never used oil or water. they pulled the dip stick out and blocked the oil breather and after 10 secs it would start to spit oil out. it has never done anything like this and its had some death since i bought it.
