Just fitted some piper fast road cams to the gti, do
they run on standard timing marks or will they need dialing in. If they need dialing in can anyone give me any tips? Have used the search button but to no avail. Cheers boys.

Which cams are they? Depending on the type they may well time up properly and then squash all your valves against the pistons. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

There the piper fast roads, gti6bp270 i think the code is.Timed them up on original marks, turned over gently by hand and felt good, fired it up, runs as sweet as a nut. Just wondered weather they'd benefit more if i were to buy some vernier pulleys and time them up properly with a dial gauge and a degree wheel? Any thoughts? Regards Dan |

the stock pulleys are adjustable, so not really any need, but do have a search to find out how much lift these have and how little space you have at TDC.http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=104146&page=1 cba to do clicky, should be on the way to work ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I need to double check as the head has been skimmed.....tiwce .So i would imagine im one of those idiots pushing my luck. I had spoken to rich about it and told him how much has been skimmed and he seemed to think i would get away with it. If it turns out they are running dangerously close i will have to fit the stock cams in again as it would be a shame to ruin a ported and gasflowed head if it drops a valve!!! |
