I have been doing some research and it seems that there are some clearance/fouling issues with fitting a quickshift to a 205 GTI with GTI-6 engine and 205 GTI 5 speed gearbox.I am thinking about Spoox, GE, Compbrake etc. Has anyone fitted one of these that can give me some feedback please? I can't tell you which one I had fitted to my 205 GTi-6 but it was adjustable. You could extend the ball on it 3 or 4 different lengths. The main problem, as i'm sure you're aware, was that it caught the exhaust manifold everytime you went for 2nd, 4th and reverse. I'm now using a standard one. ________________________________________ TEAM 205 GTi-5TEAM Phase 1 GTi-6 xbox Live tag: SilverGTi6 |

Thanks Andy, I don't want the hassle of catching on the exhaust manifold. Do you mean that you're using a standard quickshift now rather than adjustable, or just the standard 205 setup? The quadrant ones are pretty poor and make the changes worse I think, The Proper way is to adjust the gearstick by lengthening the bottom part which the Comp-brake ones do but I have known a few of these snap off along with another supplier of the same idea,I would just use some Clip on Gear rods and a rose joint on the subframe to the main solid linkage as such which replaces the worn cup which cannot be replaced. Result is a nice change ________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |
