Hi Hope that someone can help me out with some info. Colleague has a 306 S16 but the single fan wiring is in a right state. Resistor is missing and the bitron is taped up in the loom, no round plug to the fan cowling.

I'm ex pug tech so have no issues with sorting it but having problems with the autodata and haynes info I have.

If anyone has a copy of the single fan wiring I'd be really gratefull. Or is anyone breaking a car with the missing parts that would be ace. Just missed one on ebay but it'd been weighed in !!!!!

Cheers nigel

They dont use the bitron on non a/c cars, which most S16's are, if it has a single fan and a resistor then its certainly no a/c fan+loom.

It should have a 3 pin blue plug and a matching thermoswitch in the top left corner of the rad under the top hose.

Fan wiring is covered by the haynes manual.

The car has no thermoswitch but is blanked off. Bitron is definately there, live at pins 4,6 &15 and continuity down to the mass of wires. Also the bitron has continuity back to the temp sensor (brown I think) There is a blue plug with 3 pins and 2 wires one of which is burnt at the terminal. No sign of a plug for a resistor. I'm guessing that it should be connected to one of the mass of wires. The Haynes diagram doesn't show a resistor on the single fan diagram.

Obviously this car has been messed with over the years, I'm trying to do the best I can with it. Might be a case for a fan controller to get it up and running.

Mine was originally a non a/c from the factory but had the bitron unit fitted, actually made fitting the a/c much easier as it was all plug and play.

You may be better off with a thermostatic switch in the top hose type set up though if it's been bodged that much. either that or keep an eye out for some one on here breaking a car (i'm pretty sure the original loom on my S16 was the same as the twin fan set up it has now and the resistor just replaced the second fan motor even though it was in a single fan housing).
