Last month the rallye failed to start I found that the plugs were not sparking to the tip ( ngk irridium 7s fitted) I then read that 8s were better for track use so ordered some irridium 8s but on fitting them it turns over fires then stalls a few times before it will run is this down to colder plugs or due to boost pipe closing up on turn over

Any length of silicone will collapse on idle Yes

The only way to eliminate it is to get solid pipes made to measure.

Yeah I know I only have the reducer 45 on the charger the rest is solid

Another thought is that its mapped with 2" pipe but I've now fitted 2.5"

mine will start and run with a collapsed pipe, so you can eliminaten that

infact i'm pretty sure i started mine without a boosy pipe connected

you have other issues

try looking at the crank sensor or the double relay

Crank sensor and multi relay both been swapped from my other 306 so i know they are fine, before fitting the boost pipe work it wouldnt start though i thought this was normal as when the pipe work was on all was fine untill i fitted the clamps and the pipe started closing up, it closes so far that i'd say it stops any air flow so i have no doubt that it is a factor but not sure if its the only problem

im thinking about cutting a small piece of pipe say 20mm wide and slide that inside the bend so there's less chance of it closing all the way

Take a boost pipe off the inlet and turn the car on, if it revs up on its own then you know its the pipe work thats the problem.

The problem is the plugs - 8's are too cold for a low-boost unless it's a pure track / race car and constantly thrashed.

The problem is they won't be getting hot enough for the self-cleaning process to work, they will be getting fouled up very quickly, and that's why it's not running.

It will be a track car that will also be used on road, since fitting the 8s its only run for 10mins for 3-4 times, so i might just get some 7s for road use and refit the 8s when going out on track

Cheers Rich for clearing that up Smile

Not sure why mine would be different then, maybe the map being done on 2" pipe standard pulleys and flywheel and now it has 2.5" pipe solid pulley and lightened flywheel
