On my 306 the drivers side Torsion bar is 15mm lower than the passenger side since i've had the car, 6 months now & it hasn't got any lower on this side in that time, people have said to me it's a knackered beam, but i've come to the conclusion thats it's just miss alignment of the drivers side torsion bar. So basicly i need to turn the bar back 1 spline (15mm approx). Which direction do you turn the drivers side to rise the ride height for this side.________________________________________ Team Diesel |

you just set the height of the trailing arm and slide the torsion bar in wherever it goes, there isn't a specific mm per spline recorded.there must be something wrong there to cause it to sit lower. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Ok, i've just read about the splines, according to Haynes the splines on the passenger side disengage just before the drivers side, thus allowing you to make adjustments on either end. Before sliding the bar back in place.________________________________________ Team Diesel |

I think you've got confused somewhere. You can't adjust the height on the drivers side without removing the torsion bar on the drivers side. When you say the torsion bar is 15mm lower do you actually mean the ride height is 15mm lower? ________________________________________ Rich |

It always has done since i've owned the car ________________________________________ Team Diesel |

When i adjusted mine on my first 6 there was about 7mm difference between sides. I think its normal and if you couple it with uneven ground i doubt 15mm is anything to worry about.Even if it is lowering the other side to match isnt the right solution! ________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |

It always has done since i've owned the car As noted, many cars left the factory with a small difference in ride heights but 15mm is excessive and unlikely to be due to assembly tolerances. I've just looked back at your older posts and given that you've posted in an older thread that you have arch rubbing on both sides I would say the trailing arm bearings have collapsed. ________________________________________ Rich |

Those older posts where for my old 306, plus the last car had 17's where as this one is on cyclones. ________________________________________ Team Diesel |

So you've had exactly the same problem with two different cars in the space of 2 months? Clicky Either way, with the limited information given my diagnosis remains collapsed beam bearings. What are the camber angles like? Heavy negative camber (the wheels angling inwards at the top) will confirm collapsed bearings. ________________________________________ Rich |
