The intake pipe in the picture has a tube coming from the top of it, I was looking at my car today and mine does not have it, only a hole where it used to be.
Anyone any ideas why this is?

Hi guys, first question really and sorry to monkeyman but I've had to steal your picture from another thread to demonstrate what I'm on about. The intake pipe in the picture has a tube coming from the top of it, I was looking at my car today and mine does not have it, only a hole where it used to be. Anyone any ideas why this is? notoriouslor has attached the following image: |

The pipe goes to the ICV (Idle Control Valve).Without that pipe your engine is essentially sucking in shit. I'd get a replacement or at least block up the hole in the main feed pipe and fit a filter to the ICV, its a 19mm or 20mm ID neck filter that you will need for the ICV ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

Isn't that the oil breather pipe? If the pipe is not connected to the main intake plastic pipe, then it should have a mini filter on the end to stop sucking up shite (as already mentioned). Buy them from halfrauds for about a fiver________________________________________ 1992 Onyx Black 205 GTI-62005 Honda S2000 (Sold) 2002 Audi S3 (Sold) 2005 Clio 182 Trophy (sold) |

Last time i was in Halfords looking for one of their breathers they wanted £20 for it.I ended up getting one from a kit car show for £7. Most breathers i saw were only 12mm too. ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

Your probably best off putting up a thread in the wanted section. I'm sure someone will have one lying around.________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |
