ive had a gti-6 for 3 months now and it was running fine until about 3 days ago when it started tapping quite loud, on closer inspection it turns out that the exhaust cam pulley has cracked where the 3 little bolts are and isnt running true like the other pulley, bit puzzled by this and didnt know if anyone know what would cause this

The pulley design was modified on later cars, probably due to this problem.

Change the pulley and replace the cambelt as well for peace of mind Thumbs up
