Long story short, is there an off-the-shelf solution to an auxillary belt setup with the PAS and A/C removed?

So having temporarily run without the power steering connected on my 309 VTS conversion I actually really like the feel without it. At the moment I'm running the full PAS and A/C belt & tensioner setup, but since the PAS needs the fluid and neither of them don't work, I thought I'd save the space and remove both pumps and the PAS reservoir and just have a belt to the alternator.Long story short, is there an off-the-shelf solution to an auxillary belt setup with the PAS and A/C removed? ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

Pretty sure you need to make up a custom adjuster etc to do this,as the belt will be running totally different route.Think I've seen one on 205 forum where they made a bracket so the alt was adjustable to tension belt. Then just measure how long it is round your pullies and got to motor factors and see what size suites ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

I don't think it's a custom made adjuster. The standard 1.9 Mi16 arrangement used a bracket to allow the alternator position to tension the belt, and I believe it's a 205 GTi belt that's needed.________________________________________ Rich |

Advice on the 205 forum was to use a cambelt tensioner and a 700mm belt. There's a thread in the bracket on that part of the engine that the tensioner can be bolted to so that it's only driving the alternator Works like a charm.thanks anwyays folks. ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |
