well but just built the forged bottom end up on the gti6 and thought i mays well get it skimmed.so the engine machiner just removed the inlets and checked them 1 bent.the car ran 186bhp on bodies and ran fine so do you think its been dun wen ive had the head off? so goin check the exshaust valves now with a dti in lathe is this a good way?shall i buy genuine valves or these ones made buy delphi for £6 each? and going to lap them back in.shall i do the stem seals? again genuine or just sum ones from the motor factors? thanks for any helpBig grin

Personally I would get geunine stem seals and good quality valves. It is possible you have bent one of the valves when removing or storing the head. If you left some valves open and put it down on a bench you can bend them quite easily.
