Afternoon all, I'm in the middle of removing my rear beam and can't undo the brakelines.

Just wanted go know if I cut the brake lines, can I replace just the bit that's cut out or would I need to get new full lines?

Thanks, Dee

You can make a new flare on the pipes but you need a handheld flare tool which arnt the best.
Be better off taking the complete damagd line off and taking it down a local factors and get them to make a new one.
Should only cost a fiver or so

There are two connectors under the car, make sure you don't cut anything the "car side" of that, else you'll end up having to replace the lines up to the bonnet.

As long as you only damage lines the beam end, you can always get ones from another car, or make up your own from copper which is infinitely easier to flare.

Doh That's what I went and did because I was getting a little annoyed with the bolts! Oh well, its an excuse to renew the lines - anyone have an idea how much these are likely to be?

the local spares place by me charges £1 perunion then 1 per foot of pipe.

it comes in a straight lenght that you have to bend your self.

Yeah it's not expensive, it's just a massive pain in the arse routing them through the car.

Have fun with that Thumbs up

Pug still sell the "hard" lines from caliper up to flexi for each side.

I paid about £24 for the two recently, already bent to shape, proper fittings and everything.
