The leak itself is coming from the green connector on this black box. Does anyone know what this black box is called??
Here are some pictures.
Thanks

I've got a fuel leak on my 306 HDi and it's coming from what looks like a small black box near the high pressure pump. It looks like the fuel line from the tank goes into it and the line coming out from it goes to the fuel filter housing. The leak itself is coming from the green connector on this black box. Does anyone know what this black box is called?? Here are some pictures. Thanks cornish_pug has attached the following image: ________________________________________ Team Diesel |

It's a reheater. The plug can only be for a temperature sensor if it's fuel side, so suggest having a look at the thread. I have it on my X reg, lemme fish out the diagram.Edit: Here you are I had to replace the diesel link to it many years ago when a truck tyre shard punctured it. Was a messy job as you get diesel everywhere. Your description tells me it's the plug that's leaking not the fuel lines? Fuel goes tank LP Pump->heater->filter->HP pump-> Leakoff/used->cooler->tank ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

The fuel is coming out of the slot for that green connector, so could the housing be cracked causing it to leak out of the socket??________________________________________ Team Diesel |

To change the viscosity of the diesel prior to the HP pump. The fact your pump is pressurising the rail at 1400 bar is why you don't need glow plugs!Maybe the plug is a temp sensor that's come loose. I can't comment as i'm 7000 miles away from my HDi. I'm just looking in servicebox now. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

00001579Y6 FUEL REHEATER 20.49 GBP 24.59 GBP 24.59 GBP Seriously fella, it can only be a temperature sensoror a direct element if it's got access to the diesel. I can't imagine what else would be in there, and sorry but I can't look at my car lol. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

I cleaned the connector slot & disconnected the fuel in pipe. When I reconnected them & let the engine run, fuel dripped from the green plug. I thought it may have come from the pipe directly above it but that was dry. So I un-plugged the green plug once again and found diesel inside the slot for it.________________________________________ Team Diesel |

Random. My only concern in that case is what actually is letting the diesel through. Was there any obvious damage to the thread? Wrapped it with PTFE tape and re-threaded?my local Peugeot parts man is pretty good, that's the kind of thing i'd go and ask him about.________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

There is no thread on this connector, it's a push & click type. ________________________________________ Team Diesel |

Are you saying that whatever it clips onto has no thread? In which case, you need a new reheater. Simples.Got a good up close pic yo? ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |
