If it's like the 205 conversion stuff then I'd say it's average namely the front Springs, I have changed a few now to Eibach's and have had nothing but positive comments from doing so, The dampers are Just Bilstein Units and I would think solid rear mounts which I make better or you can get welded up std ones at half the cost again, Torsion bars may get uprated but Race spec is a very open term, as my Race spec is 25mm Torsion bars with a 30mm ARB which isn't suitable for the road at all________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |

Everything Skip Browns do is excellent but really expensive. £1500 would ptobs buy you KW coilovers, Rich_W rollerbearing bushes, rose jointed drop links and a hybrid ARB.________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |

IMO you would be better off looking for a decent set of coilovers, solid rear beam mounts, rich w roller bearing bushes for the front arms, hybrid rear arb and thicker torsion bars. If you are using the car on the road you could use xsara VTS torsion bars which are 21mm. You can generally pick these up for about 90 quid. May go slightly over 1500 quid with that lot but not a huge amount. ________________________________________ 2.1 16v 306 Rallye. |

They talked about this when I had a job done there as they said my suspension was ok but too soft, they said that they corner weigh the car and rebuild/re-valve the bilstein dampers to suit each corner of the car, they then lower the rear a tad and lower the front by changing the springs but they also do something with the subframe, I think they raise it a bit, the front is only lowered by about 20mm I think,They do know there shit though and I'm sure there package would transform the car, however I think using Eibach springs with Bilstein B'8's, 21mm torsion bars lowered beam and similar rear shocks, coupled with a hybrid anti-roll bar (I use a 28mm one and it's superb ) would be just as good, People seem to bang on about coilovers but I bet 90% of them are set up wrong but you do have the option of some camber I suppose ________________________________________ Team Supercharged Gti-6™ |
